Could you please mention the targets of the companies operating in the food industry in your country for 2021 and the following years?
CNR Food Istanbul helps Czech companies to enter the local market. As a visible result, several of our exhibitors have already signed contracts with local as well as foreign partners. We hope to make the new collaborations with CNR Food Istanbul visitors.

Where are your companies positioned in the global food market? What are the target markets of the companies operating in the food industry in the new period?
Most of the products are exported to Russia, Middle East, Turkey, and other countries. We would like to find new potential customers from other countries.

Could you please share your opinions about CNR Food Istanbul, closely followed by the global food industry? What does CNR Food Istanbul mean to you?
The Czech Republic has exhibited at CNR Food Istanbul for already three consecutive years. Last year, the fairground was even visited by our Prime Minister. As I mentioned, these steps underline the fact that the Czech companies see the Turkish market with more than 80 million consumers as perspective. CNR Food Istanbul helps them to enter the local and foreign markets.

How do you think CNR Food Istanbul contributes to your companies?
CNR Food Istanbul is a great opportunity to promote the exhibitors’ products. The Czech companies can find many potential customers from their sectors to participate in this fair. We are very glad to exhibit at this fair every year.

CNR Food Istanbul is ready for the new normal

The global trade platform of the Turkish food industry, CNR Food Istanbul, starts on September 1. Food waste will be the matter of discussion at CNR Food Istanbul

The annual amount of food thrown and wasted including the agricultural losses is 1.6 billion tonnes globally while this amount has exceeded 15 million tonnes in Turkey. Our country wastes food nearly as much as the annual agriculture export rate. According to the report released by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), food of around 1 trillion dollars is lost every year just before reaching consumers. The researches show that if we can prevent only 1/4 of the food loss and waste occurring worldwide, there will not be anybody left suffering from hunger in the world.

The largest of the halal trade is at CNR Food Istanbul

CNR Food Istanbul, the biggest food exhibition in Eurasia, continues to grow every year on its way to become the world's largest.

The Association of Supervision and Certification of Food Products has joined among the supporters of CNR Food, Turkey's unmatched food trade fair regarding the exhibition area, exhibitors, visitors, and trade volume. The Association is the largest organization operating in the halal food industry in Turkey.

The 5th Hall of the exhibition is allocated for the halal food sector with the protocol signed between CNR Holding and GIMDES. In the 7th Halal and Tayyib Products Special Area organized simultaneously with CNR Food, Turkey's leading manufacturers of halal food products will meet international buyers.

"CNR Food İstanbul set the bar very high”

CNR Holding CEO Ceyda Erem said, “There’s a global economic distress because of the fluctuations in foreign currency rates. We can only prosper if we unite as a nation.”

A great number of exhibitors received orders fulfilling their annual production capacity at CNR Food İstanbul on the first day.

As per the statement for CNR Food İstanbul, the exhibition which is organized with the aim of becoming the largest food fair of the world broke the record for foreign buyers in the first two days.

CNR Food Istanbul is organized to increase the export rates of the food, packaging, and food service products industries. The majority of the exhibitors received orders fulfilling their annual production capacity on the first day of the exhibition.

In her written statement, Erem expressed that the exhibitions are organized with the motto “more exports” and that the exhibitions held in 2018 were extremely fruitful.

Erem said there’s a 46% increase in the foreign buyer numbers, adding, “This is an incredible increase for the food industry export rates.” She also explained, “Usually people buy fewer tickets online compared to the tickets sold at the doors. However, last year 15% of the visitors of CNR Food İstanbul bought their tickets online. We achieved this number as a result of the hard work of our social media and digital marketing departments. By successfully implementing technology in our work the numbers multiplied fivefold and reached 66% this year.”

Erem expressed that foreign buyers and buying committees played a big part in the success of the exhibiting companies who made hot sales and established new business connections at CNR Food İstanbul.

Erem said that as a nation we need to unite to prosper in a time when the fluctuations in foreign currency rates have caused a global economic distress, adding that CNR Holding endeavors as a family of 850 employees to ensure the prosperity of Turkey.

Food Istanbul Expo was held between the dates of September 05-08, 2018 at CNR Expo Yesilkoy, with the aim of being the largest trade platform of the Turkish food industry.

International Cooking Shows

The exhibition hosted well-known international chefs for the cooking shows.
Peruvian cuisine with Bruno Santa Cruz, American Rise Show with Sebahattin Güney, American Cranberry meals with Serkan Çetintas and Indian cuisine with Vinod Kumar Chouhan were on stage while the visitors were experiencing delicious moments during the fair.

Fair was more attractive with the colorful competition

International chefs voted for the stars of kitchen during the Local Chef, Pastry of Istanbul and Chefs of Future competitions.

The Local Chef competition, which carried the gastronomy and culinary culture areas further in Turkey, was organized within the scope of the fair. The groups were evaluated from tableware, menus and groceries. Valuable jury members determined the winners. The winner of Local Chef competition was Four Seasons Bosphorus. The second winner was Fairmont Quasar, while the third was Hyatt Regency.

Teams participating in the 'Pastry of Istanbul' competition, evaluated in pastry, praline chocolate, sculpture and bakery products. The winner of Pastry of İstanbul was Le Meridien Etiler, The second winner was Movenpick Istanbul, while the third was The Ritz Carlton.
